George Z. Marootian is a Senior Associate with the Alexander Group heading up its Information Technology group.  George has over 25 years experience in the definition, development and deployment of software and hardware technology solutions for Fortune 500 companies and several startups.

His software skills cover Java, Python and LAMP stack for the application service layer.  For data persistence, George has worked with relational databases (Oracle, mySQL, SQL Server), and has, over the past few years, been involved in the deployment of Hadoop and MongoDB deployments for BIG Data initiatives.  Coming from a combined math and computer science background, George frequently works with R implementations, leveraging it to drive analytics projects to provide insight into high volume data oriented systems (PetaByes / day).

His in-depth experience with cloud computing infrastructure technologies commenced with Amazon and Eucalyptus, and has recently expanded to include OpenStack and more private deployments of VMWare and Cisco.  He is comfortable from the tech implementation (physical plant) all the way up to the C-level, able to speak to the various members of implementation teams.

George has been trained in PMI and PRINCE2 project methodologies and has a particular specialty in health care information technology.
